The border is the olympic vocabulary, bronze, silver, gold, olympics, Rio, friendship and respect, and we used the year, 2016. With the words I coloured them in the olympic rings, red, yellow, black, blue and green. It also has a nice shaded bright green.
The main thing is the tessellation. A tessellation is a repeating pattern that can’t overlap. We measured up a triangle with sides that were 3.8cm long. I was also able to make a hexagon and diamond out of the shape. The colours are bright blue, hot red and dark green. This was the thing that I liked doing for this artwork.
And my face. My teacher (Ms Hills) took a photo of my beautiful face. After that I had to go on the internet and find any athlete who was participating in the Olympics. My best friend (Javahn) had like the same person, and when we saw each others we started to laugh together. I had to stick on my head onto the body and we stick the body on the tessellation.
Oh, and the similes and metaphors. Can you guess which ones are the smiles and what ones are the metaphors? Just so you remember a smile is describe something using like or as and a metaphor is a person, place, animal or thing something else (not just like it!).
